Iranian state media confirmed on Monday that Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, the country’s foreign minister, Hossein Amirabdollahian, and several others were found dead after an hours long search through a foggy, mountainous region of the country’s northwest after a helicopter carrying the President crashed. The State has given no immediate cause for the crash.
However, speculations have it that bad weather may have been a cause of Sunday’s crash that killed Ebrahim Raisi. Moreover, mechanical issues, possibly exacerbated by a lack of spare parts could also be a factor as opined by Aviation experts.
The Country has declared five days mourning for President and those involved in the tragedy. The President is expected to be laid to rest on Thursday as investigations into the unfortunate events continues.
