…Clock Tower Project Abandoned

By Edward Marah

Hon. Musa Tarawally is one of the political sons of Moyamba district who was introduced into politics by the late Hon. Solomon Berewa who was optimistic that Hon Musa Tarawally as a young man could step up in actualizing the development aspirations of the people of Moyamba district.

Hon. Musa Tarawally, political history of being the youngest member of Parliament under the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP)  leadership of former President late Alhaji Dr Ahmed Tenjeh Kabba,  youngest resident minister Southern Region, youngest minister of Internal Affairs and youngest minister of Lands, Housing and country planning under former President Dr Ernest Bai Koroma has not been a blessing to the district but rather a cause as he has nothing to show to his district in actualizing their development aspirations.

Twenty years ago, Hon. Musa Tarawally promised his people of Moyamba Town to construct the town clock tower. The project which started in 2003 in full gear was expected to be completed in six months.

Sadly, twenty years down the line, Hon. Musa Tarawally cannot fulfil his promise to his people as the project has not only turned into a white elephant and an I saw to the residents and visitors but also a sport for accidents.

Some residents of Moyamba have expressed their disappointment at Hon. Musa Tarawally’s fake promises to them while advising him to stop making a mockery of their predicament.

Recently, we had that Hon. Musa Tarawally has started crisscrossing the country with his bid for 2028 flagbearer for the SLPP party which we considered to be laughable and will be the saddest mistake for SLPP, a resident of Moyamba told The Informant Media adding that how can Hon. Musa Tarawally aspire for the Presidency of Sierra Leone when he can not in twenty years construct a clock tower, he promised us.

Hon. Musa Tarawally is notorious for making promises and without fulfilling them sighting examples of the construction of a nightclub in Moyamba and an estate in Bo.

Our hope of having a clock tower in Moyamba like Kabala, Makeni, Bo, Kenema, and other districts has been a disappointment, a 70-year-old man cried out in an Interview with The Informant Media in Moyamba.

The only legacy Hon. Musa Tarawally Twenty-five politics has brought to Moyamba is the recruitment of a thuggish squad called ‘Issac Kabbah’ which he has now transformed into a group called (30-man squad) that is harassing, and intimidating other political opponents in the district that stands his way, said a senior SLPP stalwart on condition of anonymous for fear of his life of being attacked.

Clock towers have been a part of human history for centuries and have played an important role in communities as they are not just meant for timepieces; they are symbols of community and identity, and they serve as landmarks and gathering places for people.

They also have cultural and social significance, serving as a symbol of community identity and heritage and have become landmarks and gathering places for people.

They are often used as a reference point for meeting up with friends or for local events and celebrations which could have been achieved for the people of Moyamba Town had Hon. Musa Tarawally constructed it for his people as he promised.

All efforts to get Hon. Musa Tarawally for his reactions to this and many more allegations against him proved futile as he kept rejecting our calls.
