EPP Country Coordinator –GIZ Pays Courtesy call on NaCSA

Thursday 15th August 2024, NaCSA House – Johann Lieberich, the recently appointed National Coordinator for the Employment Promotion Program at the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), has paid courtesy call on the National Commission for Social Action (NaCSA) management. The main goal of the visit is to discuss strategic recommendations that would improve the current partnership between GIZ and the Sierra Leonean government.

Having highlighted the NaCSA and GIZ Journey, the Senior Private Sector Development Advisor – Mr Joseph Micahel from GIZ introduced Johann Lieberich as the new Country Coordinator for EPP.  The team from GIZ later revealed that they are expanding their programme implementation coverage to all sixteen districts with a prime focus on the Feed Salone Agenda.

Salifu Mansaray, the Pro-Poor Growth for Peace Consolidation (GPC) Programme Manager reemphasized that the expansion of programmes to all districts will ensure inclusivity and greater impact. The Commissioner of NaCSA Ambassador Ernest Mbaimba Ndomahina and his Deputy Sir Jimmy Batilo Songa heartily welcomed the coordinator and reiterated their commitment to working with donors and other government Ministries, Departments and Agencies for the full implementation of the big five game changers.

The Commissioner of NaCSA – Amb. Ernest Mbaimba Ndomahina stated that the Commission has been recalibrated to function effectively and efficiently within the national development agenda of His Excellency Dr Julius Maada Bio. ‘’My team and yours have been working tirelessly to ensure that all technicalities are fixed and be rest assured that our delivery capacity has been maximised. We are optimistic and prepared to welcome the fifth phase of the Employment Promotion Programme (EPP V). The objectives of the EPP speak directly to the Feed Salone aspirations and within our delivery mechanism. We are in a hurry to ensure that these aspirations are achieved.’’ He noted.

GIZ and the Government of Sierra Leone implemented the third Phase of the Employment Promotion Programme (EPI), the Pro-Poor Growth for Peace Consolidation and currently implementing the Pro-Poor Growth for Peace Consolidation and Youth Employment (GPCYE). These projects have been aligned with the national development framework.
