JFK Urges For Accountability in the Effective Implementation of the $480 Millon MCC Grant

Former Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Joseph Fitzgerald Kamara, has voiced his support for the recently awarded $480 Million Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) grant to Sierra Leone and called for strict accountability in its implementation.
In a statement, Kamara emphasized the importance of the grant, stating, “The MCC grant to Sierra Leone is for the benefit of the country, and the gesture is welcomed.” However, he stressed the need for stringent oversight in the allocation and execution of the funded project.
Joseph Fitzgerald Kamara Esq., a prominent member of the opposition All Peoples Congress, also urged for greater involvement of civil society and opposition groups in monitoring the grant’s implementation. He noted that their inclusion would enhance the credibility and effectiveness of the initiatives.
