Media Alliance for Women and Children Sierra Leone, a community-based organization that focuses on using media as a tool to advocate for the rights, representation, and empowerment of women and children, will soon be launched in Bo, Southern Sierra Leone.
The Executive Director Mrs. Diana Veronica Fillie Blackie, in an interview with The Informant Newspaper revealed that her organization aims to challenge stereotypes, promote balanced storytelling, and ensure that the media portrays women and children in a way that reflects their true experiences and contributions to society.
She pointed out that, MAWCSL will provide training, create awareness, and engage in policy advocacy to ensure that the media plays a positive role in gender equality and child welfare.
She added that Media Alliance for Women and Children-Sierra Leone aims to use media as a powerful tool to advocate for gender equality and child welfare, challenge stereotypes, and ensure fair representation of women and children in media.
