Parliament to Probe Police Headquarters Renovation

The Committee on Internal Affairs has on Thursday 19th February 2026, in a familiarization meeting held at Committee Room No. 1 vowed to investigate the rehabilitation of the Sierra Leone Police Headquarters in Freetown.

Chairman of the Committee, Hon. Moses Edwin who represents Bonthe District informed his audience that they are going to investigate the rehabilitation of police headquarters. He said that the Committee wants to know about the processes and procedures carried out.

Hon. Moses Edwin further stated that the Committee is interested to know the bidding process, the cost and duration of the renovation.

The Committee Chairman said that this is a year of delivery, and as a Committee they are going to support the government to succeed.

The Hon. Member of Parliament allayed the fair of the witnesses that the Committee is not going to intimidate anybody but to follow due process.

The meeting was attended by members of various security sectors including the Sierra Leone Police, National Fire Force, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Sierra Leone Immigration Department.
