Youth Leader declared wanted over Tunkuli Attack

Authorities in Sierra Leone have declared one Alhaji Saio Bobson, a native born of Sesay Wulaya Village, Kellian Chiefdom Koinadugu District wanted for his alleged role in an attacked on Tunkuli Village a border Village of Tonkolili and Koinadugu District on the 12th July 2022.

According to report Alhaji Saio Bobson, a Youth leader of Kellian Chiefdom Koinadugu District was one of those that led an attacked on the disputed boundary between Kellian chiefdom which is controlled by the Kuranko tribe and Conikay Fullah Wusu Chiefdom controlled by the Temne tribe.

The conflict, according to report erupted over an installation of a new section chief of the border village of Tunkuli which is under Kellian chiefdom but the Temne claimed the village belong to them since colonial days while on the other hand the Kuranko tribe claimed that the disputed area belonged them and their chiefdom of Kellian in Koinadugu district.

This ugly development degenerated into a tribal conflict which led to the death of several people, burning of houses and properties worthy millions of Leones were destroyed while hundreds of people were displaced.

Investigations carried out by this medium indicates that, one Alhaji Saio Bobson a youth leader from Kellian chiefdom Koinadugu district and a Kuranko by tribe, was one of the organizers of the attack where some youths were shot dead while some were arrested by the police but later died while they were in custody.

Alhaji Saio Bobson, and several youths have been declared wanted by the government while report indicates that Alhaji Saio Bobson is on the run.

The authorities have assured the general populace and particularly the affected communities that all efforts would be done to bring the perpetrators to book particularly the youth leader Alhaji Saio Bobson who stand accused to have planned, mobilised and execute the attack.
