DEFENCE MINISTER BOOST FALABA DISTRICT WITH 25 BOREHOLE AND 50 SOLAR POLLS

Electricity and water are essential parts of modern life and important to the economic development of any country.

Rural electrification and water provision have been a challenge to the development of rural communities which the government is trying to address, as part of its strategy of improving the economic status of the rural communities to enhance economic growth and development.

As part of his effort in complementing President Julius Maada Bio’s new direction government in connecting the rural communities with electricity and water, the Minister of Defence, Brigadier Rtd. Kellie Conteh has provided twenty-five boreholes to Falaba District six of which have been completed and are providing pure drinking water in Bumbukuro, Buru, Kumba Wullan Balia, Konbdeya, and Mongo town while the rest are under construction.

Brigadier General Rtd. Kellie Conteh, one of the true sons of Koinadugu and Falaba District has also provided fifty solar polls electricity to all chiefdom headquarters towns in the district, a gesture according to beneficiaries is historic as this is the first time in the history of the district, they are benefiting from such facilities.

Minister, has also constructed a bridge between Nyedu and Mansonia to enhance the free movement of people, promote vehicle traffic and facilitate the transportation of agricultural produce to market centres and promote trade and economic growth in the district.

“The Defence Minister is one of the hardworking Minister’s in President Bio’s government who talks less but believes in action, he is a moderate man but firm and developmental” said Mr Mamadi Kondeh project officer of KELFA Charity Foundation while distributing the items on behalf of the minister of Defence to various communities.

He said that the provisions of water and electricity by the defence minister are part of the Minister’s continued effort in contributing to the development of the district adding that Brigadier General Rtd. Kelly Conteh is committed to the overall development of the district and called on the people to join the minister in re-electing President Bio.
