The politics of today has lost its meaning of electing the choice of the majority into office.  The politics of today has lost its purpose of evaluating government officials and re-electing Worthy officials and voting out officials who did not perform to expectations.

Governance is no longer in favour of the people but the international community.

Are you angry?

Is this the way it’s supposed to be?

Is there a way out of this?

How did we even get here?

I know we all have questions, questions that many of us struggle with every day.

But what can we do as a nation to be better?

In today’s governance, government officials do little or nothing for their people and still manage to find themselves in office after a tenure.

From local council representatives up to the highest office in Sierra Leone have somehow failed the people of this country in their representation, but somehow, they are elected again in office, how?

Is it that the people want to give them another chance for better representation?

Are the people comfortable with their conditions?

Well, the gospel truth is, we are all affiliated with a political party in one way or the other, but can this nation grow with this mindset of party peki?

This nation has suffered long enough, and I will tell you why.

You and I have a responsibility to this country, but in essence, we have failed ourselves.

Our sentiment toward party affiliation has erupted in the status of this nation.

You see people who struggle to feed dancing themselves in the rain for political parties who are responsible for the state in which they are. Is this normal?

There are many factors why Africa as a whole can never conduct a credible election ranging from citizen participation to international community involvement in African politics.

Many countries are now standing out for their rights, but why is it that their voices are not heard?

I will tell you why, you see that thing they call the European Union, international observers, and the international community in general, they are the fundamental factors crippling the voices of the people of Africa in election sessions.

The involvement of the international community in African politics is the reason why the choices of the people can never assume power in Africa, especially in Sierra Leone.

A couple of days ago I was addressing youths In a public forum and I told them it’s about time they have a rethink because we do not have a fair representation in politics.

Sierra Leone elections are always conducted before the pooling day.

Your votes do not count in deciding who rules for the next five years.

It’s a thing of understanding that we have to bear ourselves for ten years.

But let everyone bear this in mind, you will not go to a shop in town and buy a bag of rice for eight hundred Leones because you are SLPP and somehow sold to me for one thousand Leone because am APC. The suffering is going to be for us all.

Proof me wrong, in the year 2028, let’s all Sierra Leonean decide to vote for the Sierra Leone People’s Party for the presidency because the government performed above expectations, and before your very eyes they will give to whoever is representing the All-people’s Congress party.

What’s my point, my point is, we are not being fairly represented in governance. The international community is deciding the elections for the people of Sierra Leone even when we have decided our fate at the pooling stations.

I fear for the innocent citizens of this nation who are being influenced and manipulated into dying for party politics.

Is it worth it?

I speak to you not as a politician, nor as an advocate for the opposition APC, I am only here voicing the injustice this nation has endured over the years in the hands of the so-called international community that allows political parties to stay in power even when they have not fairly represented their people.

Is this going to change? Am not so sure.

But I say this to you today, that until we as a nation, achieve our own due national sovereignty, terror and injustice will always be a factor in our daily politics.

Let the international community hands off our election process and outcomes, let them hands off our governance and this nation will get a fair representation.
