National Secretary General of the All People’s Congress has revealed to the public that, the APC will take disciplinary action against at least two defiant MPs who have subscribed to the oath of parliament, against the directive of the party.
He said Honourable Mohamed Bangura and Hon. Alfred Thompson are on their own, noting the party is glued to its stance not to participate in what he described as an illegitimate Bio-led administration.
Lansana Dumbuya Esq said the laws are clear and that, it was the APC that the people of the country elected not individual candidates filled in by the party to run in various districts across the country.
He said the current parliament was not well constituted and that the total number of MPs allotted to each political parties doesn’t represent the overwhelming majority of the people of Sierra Leone.
He reiterated the position of the party not participate in parliament and that, majority of the electorate are pleased with the party’s position to maintain the democratic credentials of the country.
This, he noted, is not because the APC didn’t want to represent the electorate, but that, because democracy has been stolen.
He added it is very clear by both local and international observers, including the entire world that the 2023 multi-tier elections were conducted in a bogus and clandestine manner which doesn’t represent the wishes and aspirations of the people of Sierra Leone.
He said the demands of the APC is not too difficult, saying “bring out the correct result”.
Lawyer Dumbuya said every well-meaning Sierra Leonean should be worried about the current political development of the country.
He affirmed the party is finding it difficult to meet certain state institutions given the level of sincerity and honesty.
The APC NSG confirmed the party will be meeting some institutions this week.
He said the APC is open to dialogue, but insisted this should be done with sincerity of purpose.
