The brazen attack on Hon Timbo’s home in Grassfield, Lumley, this past Monday 29/01/24 by unknown assailants armed with dangerous weapons highlights the need for increased security measures and vigilance.
The assailants utilized a hacksaw blade, commonly used by welders for cutting metals to cut through the gate and gain access to the compound- Once inside, they confronted Hon Timbo’s younger brother and beat him mercilessly in an attempt to locate the parliamentarian.
Despite the brother’s pleas that Hon Timbo was not around, one of the assailants claimed to have seen him just a day before the attack, suggesting otherwise.
Realizing the imminent danger, Hon Timbo hid within the house, praying for his safety as the assailants searched for him. In a desperate bid for help, he made numerous calls to emergency numbers, including the local police station, but received no response. Left with no choice, he had to rely on divine intervention to survive the ordeal.
This harrowing incident serves as a wake-up call for politicians and senior party executives to prioritize their safety and security. Individuals in such positions must be aware of their surroundings, avoid travelling alone, and steer clear of areas where they may be vulnerable to attacks.
