The race for key executive positions in the main opposition All People’s Congress (APC) has gained fresh momentum as Hon. Karamoh Kabba, former Minister and long-serving Deputy National Organizing Secretary, has officially declared his intention to contest for the substantive position of National Organizing Secretary.
The declaration, which has sent waves of excitement across the party’s grassroots base, was made in Freetown amidst chants of loyalty and solidarity from supporters who describe Kabba as a true patriot, a loyalist, and the man with the competence and character to deliver victory for the APC.
Speaking on his vision for the party, Hon. Kabba said he is ready to organize the APC and unite its rank and file ahead of the next National Delegates Conference and the 2028 general elections.
“I preach unity to bring everybody together”, Hon. Karamon Kabba stated.
Hon. Karamon Kabba is no stranger to the engine room of the APC. He served for six years as Deputy National Organizing Secretary, a period party insiders credit for his deep understanding of constituency, district and regional structures.
He also served in the President Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma-led government as Minister of State for the Eastern Region, Deputy Minister of Political and Public Affairs, National Coordinator for the Open Government Initiative (OGI), and Director of Political Affairs.
As OGI Coordinator, Kabba pioneered town hall engagements that brought the Presidency closer to the people, a model many supporters say demonstrates his ability to listen, organize and mobilize.
A renowned writer, publisher of Timbock Vision Magazine and author of several books, Kabba is regarded as one of the few top APC dignitaries who remain highly accessible to the grassroots. It is for this work ethic that the grassroots have given him names like “The Machine” for being fast and a workaholic in operations.
In interviews with party faithful in Freetown, Kono, Makeni and the diaspora, the consensus is clear: Kabba is seen as a unifying figure at a time the APC needs cohesion over division.
Supporters point to his track record as Deputy Organizing Secretary, where he demonstrated loyalty, discipline and strategic depth in implementing party activities, recruiting members, training polling agents and voter education core constitutional mandates of the Organizing Secretary.
“At a time when the APC needs a unifying figure, Karamoh Kabba will be that comrade from Kono District who will be fitted and qualified to be the party’s National Organizing Secretary. He is one of the few dignitaries in the party who is very accessible to the grassroots,” one senior party stakeholder noted.
Political analysts say the Organizing Secretary position is the bridge between aspiration and electoral victory. The holder must organize and coordinate activities at all levels, implement campaign strategies, and liaise with the Women’s Congress, Youth Congress, Veterans Congress and other wings.
Hon. Kabba says he is ready for that task.
“I am already on the job. I am ready for the job based on my competence and experience,” he affirmed.
With his declaration, the APC is witnessing a renewed call for organization, discipline, and loyalty values many believe Hon. Karamon Kabba embodies and can deliver for the party’s return to governance.
