A delegation from the National Executive of Women in the Media Sierra Leone (WIMSAL) has paid a courtesy visit to Susan B. Koker, the newly appointed Deputy Director General of the Sierra Leone Correctional Service (SLCS). Her appointment marks a historic milestone, making her the first woman to hold this position in the country’s history.
In recognition of this remarkable achievement, WIMSAL presented Madam Koker with a beautifully framed congratulatory message featuring words of encouragement and her photograph.
Expressing her gratitude for the visit and the thoughtful gesture, Madam Koker reaffirmed her commitment to collaborating with women in the media. She underscored the importance of women supporting and celebrating each other’s successes.
“This is a call for women to uplift one another. When women succeed, they inspire others. We must change the narrative and prove that what men can do, women can do just as well if not better. No woman should be left behind. Together, we can achieve more,” she stated.
WIMSAL President, Madam Eastina B. Taylor, described the visit as a significant moment in recognizing and celebrating women’s leadership achievements. She assured Madam Koker of WIMSAL’s unwavering support and officially invited her to attend the organization’s upcoming Annual General Meeting (AGM), an invitation Madam Koker gladly accepted.
The visit underscores WIMSAL’s continued commitment to amplifying women’s voices, fostering solidarity, and championing female leadership across various sectors.
